Exit Ready
Get your business ready for someone else to carry it forward.
How Exit Ready works
-
Discovery
We begin with a conversation and a short request for documents.
You receive a findings letter explaining what the initial records show, where the gaps are, and a clear scope for the next step. If information needs to be recovered or assembled before we can assess it, we identify and scope that work up front.
-
Readiness Snapshot
Using your accounting exports and answers to a few questions, I examine the customer base, repeat business, customer concentration, contact information, record quality, and dependence on key people.
You receive the full snapshot, a one-page plain-English summary, and a ranked list of five to ten things to address.
The snapshot helps you understand what could stand in the way of a handoff and where to focus first. You can use it on its own or continue into an engagement.
-
Engagement
We scope the work around what your business needs. That may be one important fix or a broader effort to prepare records, document operations, and build tools that support a transition.
Depending on the scope, the work can include:
- A clean customer list with account history and contacts.
- A practical plan for following up with lapsed customers.
- Analysis of repeat-service timing, estimates, and win rates.
- An operational knowledge manual.
- Financial analysis and an earnings recast.
- An organized package of records for sale preparation.
Custom applications and ongoing maintenance are scoped separately.
Financial scope
Understand the earnings before discussing value.
A full engagement includes financial analysis to develop a clearer picture of owner earnings. The work stops at an earnings range; it does not assign a valuation multiple or state what the business is worth.
Valuation opinions, appraisals, and legal and tax advice belong with the appropriate outside professionals.
